Day 12: Motion, Textures, and Butterflies

I'll post the pictures from yesterday when I have time, but I took them with my dad's camcorder because I was on a trail ride, so I have to figure out how to transfer them to my computer.

This first picture was taken by slowing the exposure to 1/15 of a second using an f-stop (aperture) of 36. That means the lens is only letting a little bit of light into the sensor, allowing longer exposures even in bright weather. At 1/15, you can zoom in while the lens is open, creating a "zoomy" effect where everything is blurred in towards the center.

That picture is a galvanized pipe used to support tomatoes at the Lucile's garden. Using stacked macro filters enabled me to get this close up. Cropped, filtered black and white in GIMP and Picasa.

The last one for today is a nice butterfly on a flower :)
